REGARDING THE RESPONSE TO THE COVID-19 VIRUS:

The office is still closed in response to state ordered procedures.  We are still functioning,
mostly working at home, but only at about 50% capacity, so we ask you to continue to bear
with us in these trying times.

We will continue to respond to phone calls and e-mails as quickly as we can.

For those of you who have been expecting Economic Impact Payments (stimulus payments),
those started arriving as direct deposits last week, but not all people who should be
receiving them have gotten them yet.  It also appears that the links at www.irs.gov to check
your status and to enter your banking information are not working effectively.  Please keep
trying.  If you have any questions, send me an e-mail and I will research it for you as best I
can.

Please note that the IRS will not contact you for this information.  You need to contact them.
If you receive a call or an e-mail asking for your personal information, it is not the IRS
contacting you.  Please ignore that call or e-mail, or contact us about it.

The SBA Loan programs have been revised. The EIDL, or “$10,000” loan as it had been
called, has been revised to $1,000 per employee.  The funding for the “Payroll Protection, or
PPP, loan has been exhausted.  However Congress is trying to act to expand the funding to
allow more such loans to be made.  I encourage you to follow up on your applications and
stay in touch with the people with whom you spoke.

The US Treasury and Franchise Tax Board, as well as the taxing authorities of most other
states, announced the delay of the 2019 individual filing AND PAYMENT deadlines to July 15,
2020 - an automatic 3 month extension of time to file in addition to the automatic 3 month
extension of time to pay taxes. Due dates of estimated taxes have also been adjusted.

We want to assure you that we are fully committed to the safety and health of our clients,
employees and our community while ensuring minimal disruption to our work and client
service during this critical time of year - although disruptions do seem inevitable.  In an
effort to limit exposure and protect our community, we will continue to operate with the
following changes:

•    All client meetings will continue to be done via teleconference.  Face-time or Zoom
meetings can be arranged if necessary.
•    We are asking that all documents be sent to us electronically.  A share file link will be
provided at your request  If you are unable to send documents electronically, please contact
our office so that we can make arrangements for you to drop off your documents.
•    Our staff will be working remotely.  However, they will still be reachable during business
hours.  We will retrieve any messages and have the appropriate person contact you.

Thank you for your patience and understanding during this challenging time.

We all wish the best to you and your families and look forward to the resumption of life as
we remember it.
